Dwight Barrett needs J$489,000 to pay for microvalve replacement surgery. His story was featured on CVM's News Watch programme on Sunday, August 8, 2009. Right now, Dwight is unable to function and is always weak because of the condition of his heart. His doctor has given him good news in that he is expected to make a full recovery but he must do the surgery soon. The next opportunity for the critical heart surgery is scheduled for August 14 in Kingston. Dwight is hopeful that he can raise the funds. Miss Chris Miller was an accident victim in 1993. Her life has changed since then. Her story was featured on CVM's News Watch programme on Wednesday, July 22, 2009. She needs to do a hip replacement surgery at the UHWI to find relief from the constant pain that she has been in. Miss Miller tearfully explained that she is unable to sleep because of the pain and discomfort. She has to sit up to get a little relief but is in pain all the time.
