Oretha Fearon needs urgent heart surgery. She has a heart block and needs a pacemaker. She is a single parent with eight children and needs your help.
Miss Fearon suffers from hypertension, chest pains, headaches and swelling of the feet. She has been diagnosed with a second degree atria-ventricular block which means there is a delay in the relaying of electrical impulses to the heart. Her story was featured on TVJ's Prime Time News on Friday, August 28, 2009. Miss Fearon needs to have a pacemaker installed to regulate her heart. Because of her condition she is weak and unable to work.
The surgery which had been originally scheduled for July has been rescheduled for September 14. The cost for the pacemaker is US$3,400 and the cost of the surgery is J$120,000.
