Dwight Barrett needs J$489,000 to pay for microvalve replacement surgery. His story was featured on CVM's News Watch programme on Sunday, August 8, 2009. Right now, Dwight is unable to function and is always weak because of the condition of his heart. His doctor has given him good news in that he is expected to make a full recovery but he must do the surgery soon. The next opportunity for the critical heart surgery is scheduled for August 14 in Kingston. Dwight is hopeful that he can raise the funds. He has managed to come up with 75% so far but needs help to get the rest. An account has been set up at the Jamaica National to accept donations on his behalf. The account number is #108-22526.
